American actress and singer, born in Carrier Mills, Illinois, USA. She went from winning a national talent contest in high school (the finals in Town Hall in New York) to Indiana University to the Metropolitan Opera National Company. She played several lead roles in musicals. She is known for United 93 (2006), Inside Out (1975), and The Many Wives of Patrick (1978).
