An American actress, who was born in Wallace, Idaho, on February 8, 1921. Lana Turner began her acting career in the mid-thirties. She entered the world of cinema with great success in 1937, as she played small roles in 3 films, including Topper (1937), after which she participated in MGM's Love Finds Andy Hardy (1938), and by the 1940s, Lana Turner established herself as an actress, making films such as Somewhere I'll Find You (1942), and Week-End at the Waldorf (1945). In the 1950s, she worked with superstars Kirk Douglas, Dick Powell, and John Wayne. Following a personal tragedy in 1958, presented the movie Imitation of Life (1959), which achieved success at the box office. In the sixties, she played less roles, but she was still able to perform unforgettable ones, such as in Portrait in Black (1960), and Bachelor in Paradise (1961). Her final roles were in Witches Brew (1980), and the famous TV series Falcon Crest (1981-1982), where she appeared in 6 episodes. She was nominated for an Academy Award, and she also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. Her most notable films include: The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946), The Three Musketeers (1948), and The Bad and the Beautiful (1952). Lana Turner passed away in Century City, California, on June 29, 1995, of throat cancer.
