A French director, born on May 13, 1928, in France. Édouard Molinaro was considered among the directors of the French New Wave in the late 1950s, and his success reached its climax with his adaptation of the play La Cage aux Folles into a film in 1978. He is known for The Birdcage (1996), Beaumarchais the Scoundrel (1996), and My Uncle Benjamin (1969). Molinaro died on December 7, 2013, in Paris, at the age of 85, of respiratory insufficiency. |
