French lawyer, journalist, writer, and motor racing organizer. He was born in Plomelin, France.He is the son of a Brittany governor who left his job to live in Paris. He studied law at the Lycée Janson-de-Saill, became a lawyer, and later worked as a journalist. In addition, he was a car-loving businessman who first owned a garage in Liverpool in 1898 and another in Paris in 1905. He represented the French Automobile Club. He created the character Fantômas, which was later transformed into a series of artworks. He died on February 26, 1914, in Paris, France.
