A Sri Lankan writer and actor who has appeared in Tamil-language films. He was born in Uduvil, Sri Lanka. He released his first anthology in 1986 after starting to write in the 1970s while attending the University of Jaffna, where he graduated with a degree in economics. He released a number of stories and poetry anthologies before fleeing to Oslo, Norway, in 1988 as the Sri Lankan Civil War worsened. He has since become a citizen of Norway and has been relocating frequently to Tamil Nadu in southern India to pursue his literary and artistic interests. He received the Norwegian Writers' Association's best immigrant writer award in 1995. He appeared in several works like Indru Netru Naalai (2015), Jilla (2014), and Aadukalam (2011).
