She continued to star in many movies, receiving five Academy Award nominations, until she won one in 1959 for the film I Want to Live (1958), in addition to the Golden Globe Award for the same movie. She also won a Golden Globe for her role in the movie With a Song in My Heart (1952). Her last movie was The Revengers in (1972) before she was diagnosed with brain cancer. She died on March 14, 1975 in Beverly Hills, California.
