An American actor, born in Albany, New York, on September 5, 1939. He received Soap Opera Digest Award for his role in the TV series Knots Landing (79-1993). He got married to Eugenie from outside the artistic community in 1961, with whom he had a child. His father was a chauffeur to the US President Franklin Roosevelt. He graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and worked in theater. He starred in Broadway theaters and worked in films before working on American television. Due to his strong resemblance to the US President John F. Kennedy, he played his role in the movie The Missiles of October (1974). He then made his fame by co-starring in leading roles in Alfred Hitchcock films. He used to play political roles, especially the roles of presidents. He loves horse riding and polo and has won many awards in them. He also owns a restaurant specializing in Italian cuisine.
