An American actor who was born in New York City, on December 25, 1899 as Humphrey DeForest Bogart. He died on January 14, 1957 in Los Angeles of esophageal cancer. He was educated at Trinity School in New York, then moved to Phillips Academy in Andover to prepare to study medicine at Yale University. In acting, he was able to sign a movie contract with Fox to work in small roles. In four years, he was able to appear in 28 films between gangster films, American westerns, and horror films. He is best known for his roles in the movies Dead End (1937), Casablanca (1942), and Sabrina (1954). |
