An American writer, born in South Carolina, in the United States, and grew up in New York. He was the brother of Kenneth Allen Harrison, a basketball player. He graduated in 1952 from Commerce High School, then joined New York University. He collaborated with many writers, theater artists, and musicians, such as Billy Dee Williams and Freddie Hubbard. After graduating, he went to Spain and the Netherlands for a period of time, where he worked on developing his writing skills. During this time, he wrote a film called Stranger On The Square.
