Canadian screenwriter born on 1 January 1978 in Toronto, Canada. She attended Vancouver Film School's Writing for Film and Television program and graduated in 2001. She is famous for co-writing the screenplay for District 9 (2009) with her husband Neill Blomkamp, which was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 82nd Academy Awards. Her other works include Chappie (2015) and Yellow (2006).
