Alan Ladd was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on September 3, 1913 as Alan Walbridge Ladd. He received the Golden Apple Award in 1944 and 1950, and a Star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. He graduated from North Hollywood High School. He worked for the Warner Company, but his body size and skin color did not allow him to work in cinema, so he worked on radio, and small roles in cinema. In 1941, he presented a role in the movie Citizen Kane that drew attention to him, after which he introduced several roles, the most important of which are in the films: The Blue Dahlia (1946), and The Proud Rebel (1958). |
