An American actor, born in New York, USA. He received his education in public schools in New York. He then dropped out of school to begin his career playing the piano. He then formed a band in 1916 to work in nightclubs until he opened a nightclub and performed in musical comedy...Read more shows. Then he went on to work in theaters and also worked on Broadway in New York. He won the Peabody Award in 1951 and the Primetime Emmy Award in 1953. He also received two stars on the Walk of Fame. He is known for It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963) and This Time for Keeps (1947).
