An American actor, radio presenter, and voice-over artist. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and grew up in Hammond, Indiana. He graduated from Hammond High School in 1939 and entered Indiana University. During World War II, he served in the Signal Corps. After his military service, he began his radio career and wrote his first feature film, A Christmas Story (1983). He died on Sanibel Island, Florida, USA.
