American actor, born on January 4, 1930 in Buffalo, New York, USA, as Sorrell Robert Booke. He graduated from Columbia and received a Master of Fine Arts at the Yale School of Drama. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and can speak five languages. His acting debut was in Guiding Light (1952). He is known for The Dukes of Hazzard (1979-1985), Fail-Safe (1964), and The Iceman Cometh (1960). He received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role by an Actor for Dr. Kildare (1961). He married Miranda Knickerbocker in 1958, but they got a divorce in 1973. They both had 2 children. He passed away on February 11, 1994, from cancer in Sherman Oaks, California, USA.
