An American actress of Russian descent and an animal rights activist. She began learning ballet during World War II, before her family fled France. During the German military intervention, she moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after a short stay in Portugal, and then settled in New York, in the United States, where she later studied at the High School of Music and Art. Then she studied acting at the Jean-Louis Barrault School of Theatre. She directed some theatrical performances, and in addition to that, she presented dance performances with Merce Cunningham's company in 1955. She moved to California, became involved in the art scene, and was part of the feminist art movement in Europe and the United States in the early 1970s. She died in Los Angeles, California.
