American actress, born on April 22, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA to a family of Russian descent. She graduated from Shorewood High School in 1944. She attended Northwestern University, moved to New York City in 1948, worked in theater, and won the Tony Award twice. In April 2017, she announced that she had bone cancer, 7 years after she had pancreatic cancer. She is known for The Facts of Life (1979-1986). She died on Sunday, August 5, 2018 (age 92) in Los Angeles, California, USA. |
