American actor and writer, who was born on November 22, 1904 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He married Ada Howe in 1930, and they divorced. Among his most important works are Docks of New Orleans (1948), Blue Hawaii (1961) and The Feathered Serpent (1948). He was the son of a famous violinist and composer, who taught at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
He began his artistic career on stage in theaters around Boston and moved to Broadway in 1924 to present the play The Firebrand. In 1931, he joined radio to work as a commentator on matches until 1947 and then turned to work in cinema. In the seventies, he presented a number of radio programs in addition to his work in cinema and commercials. Roland Winters died on October 22, 1989 in Englewood, New Jersey, USA due to a stroke.
