An American actor, writer and producer of British descent born in Greenwich, London, on May 29, 1903, then immigrated to USA at the age of 5 with his family. He was awarded the Special Academy Award 5 times for his contributions and services to the film industry. Comedian Bob Hope worked for several years in the theater as a dancer and comedian before presenting his first film, The Big Broadcast of 1938. He starred in different roles, the most important of which are in: Give Me a Sailor (1938), Road to Morocco (1942), and The Golden Girls (1989). He died on July 27, 2003, in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, California, of acute pneumonia |
