Salma El-Sharkawy |
An American director and screenwriter, born in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the father of director Richard Lang. After enlisting in the US Army while serving in France during World War I, he relocated to New York State and secured employment as an office clerk at a film production company. After that, he directed his first movie in 1926 while working as an assistant director. He was hired by 20th Century Studios in the middle of the 1930s. He presented many artistic works, such as Call Me Madam (1953) and The King and I (1956). |
