A Kuwaiti author, writer, poet, and academic researcher, born in Kuwait. She obtained a BA in Arabic Language and Literature from Kuwait University in 1976, and a PhD from the University of London in 1987. In 1987, she was appointed to the position of a faculty member at Kuwait University, where she taught literature. She participated in the Kuwaiti Cultural Week in Morocco in 1981, and the Kuwaiti Cultural Week in Baghdad in 1982, as well as in most of the poetry evenings held by the Writers’ Association. She has published some of her poetry in daily Kuwaiti newspapers, and has had poems published in the Kuwaiti magazine Al Bayan. Her collections of poetry include "The Little Human" (1998) and "The Water Galaxy" (2000). She wrote lyrics for songs in a number of television series, including Children of Tomorrow (1999).
