An American actor, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 15, 1882, as John Sidney Blyth. Among his most notable films are Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920), Grand Hotel (1932), Dinner at Eight (1933), and Twentieth Century (1934). John Barrymore is the youngest son of theater actors Maurice and Georgie. John was briefly educated at King's College School, Wimbledon, and studied art at New York's Art Students League. John Barrymore is one of Hollywood's most celebrated actors, who rose to stardom quickly, and his life ended tragically. He was a member of the most famous family of actors in America. He made his acting debut at the age of 18 in theatrical performances by his parents. He co-starred with his brother, Lionel, and his sister, Ethel, in the 1932 film Rasputin and the Empress. John Barrymore died on May 29, 1942, in Los Angeles, California.
