Toqa Hesham |
A Hungarian director and writer, born in Budapest in 1977. He moved to France with his mother at the age of twelve and grew up in its capital, Paris, where he joined the Institut d'Études Politiques and studied history, international relations, and political science, after which he studied directing at the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University, but he ten dropped out.
His first feature film was Son of Saul, for which he won the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes Festival and the Palme d'Or. Moreover, he won the BAFTA Awards for Best Film not in the English Language. Among his work: the short films With a Little Patience, The Gentleman Takes His Leave, and Sunset.
