An American actor of Indian descent, born May 18, 1947, in Srinagar, India, He is best known for his role in Mad Max, and he settled in Australia, starring in films and series including Moby Dick (1998) and Sleeping Beauty (2011). He also appeared as Immortan Joe in Mad Max: Fury Road, the fourth installment of the franchise, alongside Charlize Theron in 2015 and was nominated for an Australian Film Critics Association Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. He died on December 1, 2020. |
