Known as the Flying Scot, he is a racing car driver from Scotland. Between 1965 and 1973, he participated in Formula 1 and won three world championships. He also participated in the Canadian-American Challenge Cup, or Can-Am. In the US, he is well-known for his roles as a spokesperson for Ford Motor Company and co-commentator (pundit) for races that are shown on television. Alongside his son Paul, he served as team principal of the Stewart Grand Prix Formula One racing team from 1997 to 1999. and a 2009 analysis by writer Kevin Eason placed him sixth among the fifty best Formula 1 drivers of all time. Stewart has appeared in a number of documentaries, such as A Life of Speed: The Juan Manuel Fangio Story (2020), which tells the story of former racing champion Juan Manuel Fangio.
