He is an Egyptian plastic artist and independent film director. He was born in Algeria in 1980 and was raised in Cairo. He received his BA from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Helwan University in 2003. He obtained an MA from Tyler College of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia, USA in 2009. Since 2000, Bassem Yousri has participated in many group exhibitions in Egypt and internationally. In addition, he held 4 solo exhibitions in the USA. He is best known for the documentary The Wardrobe Man (2018). |
