A great writer, poet, philosopher, politician, historian, journalist, and monk of literature. He became famous and filled the world with his literature, and represented a unique case in modern Arabic literature. He was born in Aswan in 1889, his father was a simple employee in the Records Department. He was satisfied with obtaining the primary certificate, but he devoted himself to reading and educating himself. His library contained more than thirty thousand books. He worked in many governmental jobs, but he hated government work and saw it as a prison for his literature. He didn't last long in any job he took and turned to journalistic work. He wrote for the most famous newspapers and magazines at the time. He did not get married, but he lived love stories. He was a member of the Arabic Language Academy in Cairo, and was a correspondent member of the Arabic Language Academy in Damascus and in Baghdad. He was awarded by the State Appreciation Prize in Literature, but he refused to receive it, and he refused to receive an honorary doctorate from Cairo University. He fought many battles in literature, he clashed with great poets and writers. He also founded the "Al-Diwan School", where he called for the renewal of imagination and poetic image and commitment to organic unity in poetic construction. He joined the Wafd Party, and valiantly defended Saad Zaghloul, but he resigned from the party in 1933 due to a dispute with Mustafa El Nahhas. He attacked the king during the preparation of the constitution and was imprisoned for nine months. His books have exceeded one hundred, and the most famous of them are "The Geniuses". In addition to many articles that are difficult to enumerate, and he has a single story, "Sarah". He died in 1964, leaving a huge legacy.
