American actress, born in Battle Creek, Michigan, USA, on February 26, 1921 as Elizabeth June Thornburg. In 1937, she joined one of the popular bands that worked on radio, which gave her the opportunity to work in Broadway theaters in 1940 and in some short films. Among her notable works: The Miracle of Morgan's Creek (1944), Annie Get Your Gun (1950), and The Greatest Show on Earth (1952). Betty received the Golden Apple Award in 1944, and a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. Betty got married 4 times. She died on March 11, 2007 in Palm Springs, California, USA, of colon cancer.
