A French actor, born in Paris, France, as Pierre Alexandre Martin. He married actress Francine Bessy, with whom he had one child. Among his most important works are The Grand Maneuver (1955), Goodbye Again (1961), Is Paris Burning? (1966), and Z (1969). Pierre Dux studied at and graduated from the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in Paris and worked as a theater actor before appearing on the cinema screen. He also worked as director of the Théâtre de Paris and then director of the Comédie-Française from 1970 to 1979. He died on December 1, 1990, in Paris, France.
