A French actor, born in Paris, France. He is famous for his roles in French horror and thriller films. He began his acting career on stage, then moved to cinema and television, becoming a winning card in supporting roles. He got his first role in the film Le Doulos in 1961 in collaboration with director and screenwriter Jean-Pierre Melville, and then his works followed, such as the film Les camisards (1972), the film La communion solennelle (1977), the film Ne pleure pas (1978), the film Le pull-over rouge (1979), the film Carne (1991) in which he appeared as a desperate butcher, the series Les cinq dernières minutes (1977), and the series Les enquêtes du commissaire Maigret (1967).
