Cabot left school at the age of 14 and never returned. He worked in several simple jobs, including a cook and a mechanic, and spent 3 years as a professional wrestler before the outbreak of World War II. He also worked as a chauffeur for British actor Frank Pettingell before becoming an actor. Sebastian was the father of actress Annette Cabot and actor Christopher Cabot.
