A British actress, born in Oldham, Greater Manchester, England, UK, on June 21, 1954, to a father who worked as a cartoonist. After leaving high school, she worked at the Oldham Coliseum Theatre as an assistant stage manager. She is known for Coronation Street (1972-2015), ITV Sunday Night Theatre (1972) and Coronation Street: Tram Crash (2010). She married actor David Beckett (1992-2015) and remained with him until she died on January 19, 2015, in Manchester, England, UK, of breast cancer.
