An Irish actor born in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, British India (now India) on April 16, 1918, as Terence Alan Patrick Sean Milligan. He won the BAFTA Award for Best Television Writer in 1957, and the Lifetime Award in 1994. He got married three times including June Marlow (1952-1960) and had three children before his divorce, Patricia "Paddy" Ridgeway (1962-1978) and had a child with her, and she remained with him until her death, and Shelagh Milligan (1983-2002) and she remained with him until his death. Among his most important works are Q9 1069 The Bed Sitting Room (1969), The Great McGonagall (1974), and Life of Brian (1979). He was born to an Irish captain in the British Army in India, was educated in a series of Catholic schools in India, and the Polytechnic in England, and spent his artistic formation working in jazz bands. He was enlisted in the British Army in World War II, joined the Royal Artillery, served on the North African and Italian fronts, was wounded in the war, and left the army to begin his journey with writing. He began working in radio writing, then writing novels and comic works for children, and wrote a series of books on his practical experience in the war. In 1951, he began his journey with films and television series. He passed away on February 27, 2002, in Bray, East Sussex, England, the United Kingdom from kidney failure.
