An American actress, born in Jamestown, New York, USA as Lucille Desiree Ball. She received many awards, including the 4 Emmy Awards, in addition to a Governor's Award. She also received a Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globe Awards and two stars on the Walk of Fame in 1960 for her work in film and TV. She married twice and had two children.
She is known for I Love Lucy (1951), The Lucy Show (1962), Here's Lucy (1968), Yours, Mine, and Ours (1968). Her father died at the age of four, and her mother held several jobs. She studied at the John Murray Anderson School for the Dramatic Arts in New York City and worked as a fashion model. She collaborated with Max Factor to advertise their products. She died on April 26, 1989 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, from an acute aortic aneurysm.
