A French writer, director, and actor, born in France. After leaving high school without graduating, he moved to Paris, where he sold vegetables to take acting lessons, and then began acting, first on stage, then in cinema. His film L'arrière pays (1998) won the Special Excellence Award for First Film at the Montreal World Film Festival and a special mention from FIPRESCI, and he received a nomination for Best New Director for a Feature Film at the César Awards in 1999. He also directed Porn Theatre (2002) and Before I Forget (2007). He has also appeared as an actor in several films such as Knife + Heart (2018), Everything Went Fine (2021), and Gare du Nord (2013).
