An American actor, born in Denver, Colorado, USA. He married actress Adele Jergens (1951-1991), with whom he had his only son Tracy, and she remained with him until his death. He is known for Hangover Square (1945), Margie (1946), and Dragonwyck (1946). He spent his childhood in his hometown of Denver, and after completing his studies, he joined a local theater company before moving to New York in 1942. He appeared on Broadway in the show Kiss for Cinderella, then signed a contract with 20th Century Fox the following year. He played many successful roles during the forties, and when his career waned during the fifties, he started to work on television. Afterwards, he beacme to a successful real estate salesman. He died on January 26, 1991, in Camarillo, California, USA, of lymphoma.
