Egyptian writer, lawyer, musician, athlete, politician, activist, parliamentarian, orator, and one of the pioneers of journalism. He was the first syndicate chairman for journalism. He was born in 1896 Kafr Abu Shehata, Sharqia Governorate, Egypt to a family of Circassian origins. He graduated from Law School in 1917 and joined the National Democratic Party in 1921. He debuted as a writer in the newspaper Al-Maiied and joined the newspaper Al-Ahram in 1919. From 1926 until 1961, he became the editor-in-chief of the magazine Al-Musawar, where he wrote about 5500 articles over 55 years.
He was appointed chief editor of the monthly Egyptian magazine Al-Hilal, but on 18 August 1961, the Egyptian government decided to relieve him from his duties, and it is believed that the order was made by President Gamal Abdel Nasser following a political article Abazah published. He was one of the orators of the 1919 Egyptian revolution. He was elected Honorary President of the Egyptian football club Al Ahly. He also composed 100 musical pieces on the flute and mandolin. He wrote several stories, including “The Tragicomic”. He died in Cairo on 9 February 1979.
