Refaat El Fanageely was a football player, born in Damietta on May 1, 1936 as Mohamed Refaat Mahmoud Mustafa El Fanageely. He started his football career in Suez SC and then moved to Al Ahly SC in the 1953-1954 season. He won 7 league championships with Al Ahly SC and 5 Egypt Cups. He joined the national team from 1953 to 1967. After he retired in 1967, he worked in the field of training in Damietta SC. Also, he appeared in the movie City's Talk (1964). He passed away on June 23, 2004.
