A Bulgarian director and scriptwriter, who, after graduating from high school, spent two years at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia. He studied photography at first and then switched to cinematography. During the second year, he completed his studies at La Fémis in Paris. He graduated in 2002. His feature film debut came in 2009 through Eastern Plays. He won many international film awards for the screenplay and direction of this film.
