A Pakistani director and producer. She is most recognized for directing documentaries about the Taliban movement in Pakistan, for which she received two Emmy Awards and an Oscar. She is the first non-American to receive the Livingston Award for Young Journalists. In 2012, Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 influential individuals. Her films include A Journey of a Thousand Miles: Peacekeepers (2015) and Song of Lahore (2015). |
