A Swedish cartoonist and illustrator, best known for creating the cartoon Bamse. He was born in Lindome, Sweden. He worked as a comic book artist after having stage and screen acting experience. Starting n 1944, he produced children's comics, primarily for the Swedish market, though his works have been translated into other languages. He became famous for creating cartoons and characters such as Pellefant. His credits include Bamse i Trollskogen (1991).
