An American writer and novelist, he was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States. In 1930, he received his degree from Princeton University in New Jersey, USA. After that, he worked in Philadelphia, where he joined the N.W. Ayer & Son advertising firm and was part of General Douglas MacArthur's staff during World War II. In 1952, he became the Vice President of Information Services. He started writing fantasy stories in the 1940s, and his first book, "Inner Sanctum Mysteries," was published in 1958. He died in Fort Myers, Florida, in the United States, at the age of ninety-one years.
