Salma El-Sharkawy |
American screenwriter, producer, and director. He was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in the United States. His family is of Russian descent. He was a student at Wisconsin University in Madison. After his aunt gave him a camera for his thirteenth birthday, he developed an interest in movies. He enlisted in the US Army Air Forces during World War II after completing his studies at a university. He and his wife started working in television ads after the war. Later, he became an assistant in the production industry and wrote British feature films. Among his works are The Amazing Colossal Man (1957), The Magic Sword (1962), and Village of the Giants (1965). He won the Grand Prix of the International Film Festival in Paris in 1977.
