Wendell Corey was born on March 20, 1914 in Dracott, Massachusetts, USA. Corey received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960 for his work on television. Wendell Corey married Alice Wiley and had 4 children with her, He is best known for Sorry, Wrong Number (1948), The Search (1948), Rear Window (1954), and Harbor Command (1957). Wendell Corey represented the toiling American character in films and television series in the forties, fifties and sixties. He first appeared on Broadway in 1942 to provide many shows in supporting roles, and in the mid-40s, he signed a contract with Paramount to appear for the first time on the cinema screen in the movie Desert Fury (1947). Corey worked as a member of the Actors Guild, president of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences, and a member of the Santa Monica City Council. He died on November 8, 1968 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, from liver disease.
