An American illustrator and author who was born in Hamburg, Germany. His children's novels have made him renowned. A French publisher saw his drawings of animals while he was living in Paris and hired him and his wife to write and illustrate a children's book, which included the well-known character George, the monkey. When WWII started, the couple moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts, and published their stories about Curious George. He is known for Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle (2015) and Curious George: Cape Ahoy (2021).
