An American actress, born in Yakima, Washington, United States. She began her career when she was young by working in church plays with the help of her singer mother. She studied at the University of Washington and performed in plays at the university, and was discovered in a talent competition by Paramount star Bing Crosby.
Her voice became distinguished in radio and television.
She was married to writer, director, and producer Robert E. Lee (1948-1994), with whom she had two children, and remained with him until his death. Among her credits are Waterloo Bridge (1940), The Jetsons (1962), and Battle of the Planets (1978). She died on June 12, 2016.
