Mamie Van Doren was born in Rowena, South Dakota, USA on February 6, 1931 as Joan Lucille Olander. Mamie Van Doren received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1994. Mamie Van Doren married five times and has only one child. She is best known for her roles in Teacher's Pet (1958), Girls Town (1959), The Navy Vs. The Night Monsters (1966), and Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women (1968). She entered many beauty pageants at the age of 18 and signed a contract with Universal Studios, hoping to move to Fox to compete Marilyn Monroe, the queen of temptation. She was even famous for appearing semi-nude in her films and some magazine covers. During the Vietnam War, she traveled twice to entertain American soldiers in Vietnam and visited hospitals to support the war casualties. Despite the success of her film career, she sang in nightclubs in Las Vegas in the seventies.
