An American actress, born in Tucson, Arizona, USA, on August 23, 1931, as Barbara Jean Morehead. In 1951, she was elected Miss San Francisco. Eden graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in San Francisco. She also studied at the City College of San Francisco, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and the Elizabeth Holloway School of Theatre. At the time, she wanted to become a singer.
Eden began her television career in the mid-fifties and gained international fame after her participation in I Dream of Jeannie (1965-1970). She also worked in cinema and theater after contracting with MGM, Universal, Columbia, and 20th Century Fox. Barbara Eden has contributed to many charities, such as the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and Save the Children.
Barbara Eden received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1988 and was nominated twice for a Golden Globe Award. She got married three times and had one child. Among her most notable works are How to Marry a Millionaire (1957-1959), I Dream of Jeannie (1965-1970), Harper Valley P. T. A. (1981-1982), and Dallas (1990-1991).
