Dalia Saad |
A Romanian-American director and screenwriter, born on February 26, 1900, in Craiova, Dolj, Romania. He left home at the age of 12 and ended up in Paris. When WWI broke out, he found himself in the French army working in a field hospital on the Western Front. After returning to Paris, he embarked on a more serious study of the arts and then returned to Romania. Thereafter, he moved to New York, then to California, where he initially worked as a portraitist. He took an interest in filmmaking, whereupon he wrote and directed an experimental feature film called Three and a Day. After that, he was hired by Paramount Pictures. He died on July 18, 1993, in Marbella, Andalusia, Spain.
