An American songwriter, translator, writer, and poet, born on June 23, 1941, in San Luis Obispo, United States. He studied high school in Palo Alto and learned to play many instruments as a teenager. His family moved to Connecticut, where he attended the University of Connecticut, but he left college a year later and returned to Palo Alto. He started his career as a singer in 1961 and collaborated with many songwriters such as Bruce Hornsby, Steve Kimock, Jim Lauderdale, and David Nelson. He died on September 23, 2019 in San Rafael, California, USA.
