An American writer, born in New York State in the United States. He studied at the University of Washington and began writing in the 1930s. He is known for his writings in The Country Gentleman and The Saturday Evening Post. In the mid-1940s, he began writing screenplays and became a writer for Paramount Pictures. He wrote the novel Not Too Narrow... Not Too Deep, which was adapted into a film. He also wrote the story for Gentlemen Marry Brunettes and Suddenly, and the screenplay for The French Line, in collaboration with his wife, the writer Mary Loos.
